Summer Berry Smoothie

I love a good thick creamy smoothie for breakfast and this strawberry & blueberry smoothie is my go to favourite, especially in summer. You can use a mix of blueberries and strawberries or either on its own. 

I prefer using both. Strawberries – because they are in season and I love the taste of my homegrown ones. I have a little stash of frozen homegrown strawberries stocked in my freezer and blueberries because they give the amazing purple colour. Both these berries contain vitamin C, antioxidants and fibre. Put all the ingredients in a blender & whizz until the strawberries and blueberries are almost completely blended. 

Summer Berry Smoothie ingredients

Ingredients – serves 1 x 250ml

  • 1/2 cup Strawberries 
  • 1/2 cup Blueberries 
  • 1/2 small frozen bananas sliced
  • 1 tbsp Chia seeds
  • 1 tbsp Plain yoghurt
  • 1 tsp Almond nut butter
  • 100ml Almond milk (unsweetened)
